ENERGY: Why is Energy Important
The short answer is without energy, there is no life. We need energy for everything we do; even the simplest of action requires energy. Moving just one inch require energy, a heartbeat requires energy, boiling water requires energy. We need energy to grow, to jump, to play, to stay warm and this energy comes from the food we consume
This site is not about human energy requirement but to help you check your CO2 contribution to the environment. First it is important to understand how energy works.
Many countries around the world are trying to achieve NET ZERO, which is simply reducing greenhouse gas emissions to as close as possible to zero with residual CO2 absorbed by the environment (forests and oceans)
Just like how we need energy to grow, we need energy to be able to produce anything. Electricity is a form of energy which can be generated from many source. Many industrial activities make use of energy from different source (Fuel oil, Natural gas, coal). Without these sources of energy, the industrial revolution may not have occurred at the rate it did.
By using these energy sources, it has allowed us able to generate electricity, have oven for cooking, install boilers at houses to supply hot water and even steam
Every electronics, beauty products, processed food, appliances etc are produced in factories which take advantage of these different energy sources.
